Happy Fengshui Home

Before this post, I wrote a long length one quoting from old classics like the Green Satchel and such. Then I thought who cares. So I decided that boring stuff we save for another day. Let’s get to the meat.

Surroundings…

1.            To choose a house, to build a house get one with a hill behind it. Not absolutely an unshakeable motto but the law of probability should favor you get it right by doing so.

2.            Get areas with lots of trees and greenery. Even if feng shui is not so good, at least you get free oxygen supply. However, don’t build your house too near to those big old ones as you will not be happy clearing leaves and warding off falling decayed branches.

3.            Get one with a good view. Of course we all know that. Never mind. Get one with a lake view. That should raise your bank mortgage. If money is not an issue, get land with a nice healthy pond. However, that house you are eyeing should be built sitting well high of the pond. If not your relationship with your banker is going to get cosier.

4.            This one most people miss. The place around you should be clean and the neighbourhood is a well designed one.

5.            Feel the air. Visit at different times of the day. Is the air moving. Does the wind kiss your face or does it want to blow right through you. The kisser is preferred.

6.            Accessibility. Houses away from the main hustle and bustle are always cheaper but get one too far away and you will be living in what is called an “encumbered dragon abode”. You should have good roads and getting in and out should be a breeze. Too many traffic stops and you are bound to get stressed sooner than later.

7.            Sunshine. Yes. This one normally comes free but some houses are built in such a way that sunlight never reaches the home. Not good.
