A reader is on the verge of moving house and wrote in his concern. I hope this general answer may help in some way.
Most people, when they talk about the three killings, they probablyare referring to the annual location of the three killings. For this rabbit year, it is at west. It is this direction (and incidentally the east) we have to pay particular attention to when making major renovations where lots of disruptions, banging and dust are involved. If one is moving house but the door happens to be right smack at west, then the solution is to select a suitable day for moving and at the same time take the few precautions mentioned below.
One thing about Feng Shui is that it is not as scary as it is often made out to be. For “not nice” things to happen, all the factors must be stacked against it. For example, the three killings may be located at a certain place but it has no bad portent if we just leave it alone.
The three killings may be west for the year but it need not be so for the month. For example, for roughly the month of August, the monthly three killing is at the south so there is no stacking of the three killings.
With the three killing at the west but the door is somewhere else, there is no need to worry too much. Otherwise, the west direction becomes taboo which is silly.
Even with the three killings smack on the door, selecting a good date would take care of the concerns. The good astrological influences of a good date would alleviate the negative factor of the three killings. Of course, it is good advice that one does not go about lighting firecrackers or have bright lights at the location where the three killings is located. Loud music too would not be appropriate.
One point worthy of mention and merits including here. This is the 7th lunar month. From the period of August 8th to September 7th, most astrologers would not consider it as a good month for shifting into a new house. It coincides roughly with the autumn solstice which is considered as a crossover of yang and yin. So, the 8th lunar month makes a better choice.
